There are a number of services available to the whole of the Western Isles:

Available to the public, and to all NHS and HSCP staff, including care home staff working in the statutory, independent and third sectors in the Western Isles area, and volunteers supporting health and social care services. Reciprocal arrangements are available for staff who would prefer to seek help through another Board.


NHS Western Isles intranet provides information on resources, mental health & wellbeing support, and COVID specific support.

Chaplaincy Phone Line offers a listening ear service, particularly for issues of bereavement and loss.

Occupational Health service provides support to staff concerned about their ability to do their job safely and effectively during COVID-19.

Digital Tools Support provides audio and video clips of short exercises, psycho-education and self-help information.

Available to Scottish Ambulance Service staff based in the Western Isles. A self referral form can be completed and followed by offer of telephone or face to face virtual appointment. Cases are triaged and allocated according to level of need and case complexity, and managed by clinicians with the appropriate skill set.

Be Mindful provides an online mindfulness course to improve mental health & wellbeing.

Feeling Good App provides a series of audio tracks with essential skills to improve mental & physical health and build personal resilience.
Available to: All Scottish Ambulance Service staff

Username and password can be accessed through the Wellbeing section of @SAS.

Available to: All ambulance service staff nationally

Text ‘Shout’ to be put in touch with a trained Crisis Volunteer who will chat to you using trained techniques via text
